THE PRODUCER

A family farm, handled with intent.

Ruben Viera took over his family farm in 2006. A core team of three grows to around fifteen during harvest, with the coffee managed through manual farming methods and an eco-conscious approach.

Boquete gives the lot its extraordinary setting: high altitude, rich volcanic soil and the cool Bajareque mist. It is exactly the kind of microclimate that lets Geisha show its delicate florals, bright fruit and long, elegant structure.

Not a coffee to rush. Not a coffee to bury under anything. Just brew it cleanly and let it speak.

THE PROCESS

Chilled cherry.
Careful fermentation.
A very long wait.

  1. 01

    Wash & chill

The cherries are washed to remove impurities, then cooled to stabilise their metabolic activity and preserve a clean, vibrant profile.

  2. 02

    Ferment

They spend 95 hours in sealed fermentation bags at controlled temperatures between 14°C and 28°C, building acidity, fruit and complexity.

  3. 03

    Dry slowly

A 293-hour patio drying stage gives sugars and flavour time to develop while building the coffee’s rich, syrupy mouthfeel.

  4. 04

    Rest

The dried coffee rests for two months to stabilise before export, helping the finished lot arrive with clarity and consistency.

PEOPLE & PLACE

Tradition, creativity and a lot of skilled hands.

Creativa Coffee District works closely with producers across Boquete, Hornitos and Renacimiento, bringing careful processing and creative experimentation together without losing sight of the farm.

The mill also works with women from the Ngöbe-Buglé Indigenous communities, whose generations of agricultural knowledge and craftsmanship are part of the human story behind this lot.

BREW IT PROPERLY

Paper filter.
Clean water.
No hurry.

  1. 01
Brew it manually through a paper filter so the florals and fruit can stay clear and articulate.
  2. 02
Let the cup cool for a few minutes. More sweetness and detail appear as the temperature drops.
  3. 03
Drink it without distractions. A nano-lot like this has already done the hard work.
